Green Tara Newari Paubha/ Pauva/ Pauba/Thangka Painting is painted with water mineral and stone colors on special handmade cotton cloth. The Green Tara is believed to be a spiritual concert of Buddha. In the Buddhist tradition, Tara is believed to be the good woman that brings all good fortune and prosperity. Paubha or Pauva is a traditional painting of the Newar communities, original dwellers of Kathmandu valley. Paubhas are mainly religious paintings, depicting deities, mandalas, or monuments, and also are the object of meditation. The Paubha is similar to Tibetan Thangkas.
