Here is a stunning hand-painted 24-carat gold masterpiece, a Tibetan Thangka Painting of Amitayus Buddha with 5 Dhyani Buddhas. It's painted using pure gold and natural stone colors on a handmade cotton canvas. Amitayus, also known as Aparmita, is a name for Buddha Amitabha in his Bestower of Longevity form. He can be considered a celestial Buddha or a fully realized Bodhisattva who attained Buddhahood many eons ago due to the infinite merit he accumulated over countless past lives as a Bodhisattva. The Amitayus Buddha is surrounded by 5 Dhayani Buddhas on top and a White Tara and Namgyal at the bottom.

According to the Larger Sutra of Immeasurable Life, Aparmita created a pure heavenly realm through the power of his good deeds, where he now lives with his numerous divine disciples, enjoying a boundless and endless life. He promises that if any faithful person calls upon him at their death, he will appear with many blessed sages and deliver the dying person to his Pure Land. There, they can live in the light of the Dharma, free from suffering and death.

In the painting and statue, Aparmita/Amitayus/Tsepame is depicted sitting in perfect equanimity with his hands in Dhyana Mudra, the gesture of meditation. His palms are facing upwards in his lap, holding the ambrosia treasure vase that is his unique emblem. His right hand, resting on top, symbolizes enlightenment, while his left hand, resting below, represents the world of appearance. Aparmita's posture expresses his mastery over the world of appearance through enlightenment and signifies the enlightened state of mind for which samsara and nirvana are one.

His vase contains amrita, the elixir of awakening and immortality, and is adorned with leaves of the Ashoka, a sacred flowering tree. This vase and its contents and adornments symbolize Aparmita's compassionate gift of a long life free from sickness and suffering.
