Tibetan astrology is a blend of Chinese and Indian astrology principles that serve as the basis for learning traditional Tibetan medicine. A Thangka painting depicts this intricate calendar and astrological diagram.

The central figure of the Thangka is a turtle resting on her back. The central circle is divided into nine areas that contain the Nine Sacred Numbers and eight symbols of Chinese Taoist cosmology representing the fundamental principles of reality. The following circle represents a sixty-year cycle divided into twelve segments in which twelve animals are portrayed: dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, bird, dog, pig, mouse, bull, tiger, and rabbit.

The deities on the top depict Vajrapani, Manjushri, and Chenrezig from left to right. In contrast, the symbol on the top left signifies the Kalachakra script, representing the wheel of time. All other symbols in the Thangka painting represent the astrological chart and Tibetan cosmology.

This diagram is essential for calculating monthly and yearly horoscopes. It is also a talisman that attracts positive energy and brings good fortune.

Size of the painting: 18 x 24 - Inch( 46 x 61 cm)
Material: Handmade Cotton Canvas
Colors Used: Tibetan Canvas Cotton, Gold Dust, Water, Tibetan Hide Glue Mixture, Hand Painted, Tibetan Colors Combination.
