Hand painted Original Master Quality Shakyamuni Buddha Mandala Painting Tibetan Wall hanging / Thangka / Compassion Meditation From Nepal
Shakyamuni Buddha, also known as Siddhartha Gautama, is the Buddha of our time and the root teacher of all Buddhist lineages. He was born over 2500 years ago as the crown prince of the Shakya kingdom, located in present-day southern Nepal. Despite living a luxurious life, he abandoned it all in pursuit of the truth about the origin of suffering and the cessation of fear. With courage, determination, wisdom, and compassion, he attained enlightenment, transforming individuals and nations worldwide, and continues to inspire us today.
The Buddha is often depicted in the Bhumisparsha Mudra, with his right hand extended to the earth and his left hand resting in his lap in the gesture of meditation (Dhyana Mudra). This gesture is known as "Buddha Shakyamuni Conquering the Demons" and represents the moment of his enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. In some representations, he also holds a begging bowl containing three precious nectars, which symbolizes his victory over the three demons of uncontrolled death, contaminated aggregates, and delusion.
Mandalas are geometric configurations of symbols that have been used for meditation in many cultures throughout history. They often take the form of a circle containing a symbolic design and have been used as calendars, weather predictors, and representations of deities. In Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Shintoism, they are used as maps to represent spiritual journeys and to aid in meditation and trance induction. Mandalas typically symbolize the journey from the outer layers to the inner core of the self or universe.
