Bring the peaceful presence of Chenrezig into your meditation space with this exquisite hand-painted Tibetan Thangka, created in the elegant Karma Gadri style and enriched with genuine 24K gold detailing.

Chenrezig, also known as Avalokiteshvara, is the Bodhisattva of Great Compassion. He represents the compassionate wish to relieve the suffering of every living being. His practice is closely connected with the sacred mantra:

Om Mani Padme Hum

The open landscape, gentle colors, spacious composition, flowing clouds, distant mountains, and delicate natural details reflect the distinctive beauty of the Karma Gadri painting tradition. Rich 24K gold accents illuminate the crown, ornaments, sacred objects, robes, and fine decorative details.

THE CENTRAL FOUR-ARMED CHENREZIG

Chenrezig sits peacefully on a moon disc and multicolored lotus throne. His white body symbolizes purity, compassion, and freedom from negative actions.

His four arms represent the four immeasurable qualities:

• Loving-kindness
• Compassion
• Sympathetic joy
• Equanimity

His central hands are joined at his heart in a gesture of devotion. They hold a precious wish-fulfilling jewel, symbolizing the enlightened compassion that responds to the needs of all beings.

His outer right hand holds a crystal prayer mala. The beads represent continuous compassionate activity and the repetition of the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum.

His outer left hand holds a lotus flower. The lotus represents purity and awakening because it rises clean and beautiful from muddy water.

AMITABHA BUDDHA ABOVE

Amitabha Buddha appears above Chenrezig, seated peacefully on a lotus throne. Amitabha is the Buddha of Infinite Light and the head of the lotus family to which Chenrezig belongs.

His position above the central figure represents spiritual lineage, blessing, and the source of Chenrezig’s compassionate activity.

MANJUSHRI BELOW

Manjushri appears in the lower-left section holding the flaming sword of wisdom. The sword cuts through ignorance, confusion, and mistaken views.

The lotus beside him supports a sacred text, representing the perfection of wisdom and the clear understanding of Buddhist teachings.

VAJRAPANI BELOW

The powerful blue figure in the lower-right section is Vajrapani. His fierce appearance represents the strength and energy of enlightened action.

The surrounding flames symbolize the burning away of fear, harmful forces, and spiritual obstacles. Vajrapani’s presence balances Chenrezig’s compassion and Manjushri’s wisdom with courage, protection, and spiritual power.

Together, Chenrezig, Manjushri, and Vajrapani represent the three essential enlightened qualities:

• Chenrezig: Compassion
• Manjushri: Wisdom
• Vajrapani: Spiritual power

KARMA GADRI LANDSCAPE

Karma Gadri painting is known for its spacious composition, soft color palette, delicate brushwork, and natural landscapes influenced by Tibetan and East Asian artistic traditions.

In this painting, flowing rivers, misty clouds, distant mountains, rocks, flowers, and trees create a calm and open setting. The large areas of open space draw attention to the sacred figures while lending the composition a peaceful, meditative quality.

LOTUS THRONE AND HALO

The multicolored lotus throne represents purity and spiritual awakening. The luminous halo behind Chenrezig shows his enlightened presence and boundless compassion.

The soft, circular aura surrounding him creates a sacred space, separating the enlightened realm from ordinary experience.

24K GOLD DETAILS

Genuine 24K gold has been carefully applied to selected areas of the painting. The gold highlights the crowns, jewelry, robes, halos, ornaments, and sacred details.

Its appearance changes gently under different lighting, adding warmth, depth, and a refined sacred quality to the artwork.

HAND-PAINTED CRAFTSMANSHIP

This Thangka is painted entirely by hand by skilled Nepalese artists trained in traditional Himalayan Buddhist art.

Creating a detailed Thangka requires careful preparation of the canvas, precise drawing, repeated layers of color, fine shading, delicate outlining, and patient application of gold.

Small differences in brushwork, pigment density, outlines, and gold application are natural features of handmade art. These variations make each painting unique.
